If I Were Your Love
If I were your love,
I would have loved you like the ocean loves the sand,
With gentle waves and soothing breeze,
I would have held you close and never let you go.
But now, I am shattered and forlorn,
Like a broken glass lying on the ground,
My heart feels like it's been ripped apart,
And I don't know how to mend it back.
If I were your love,
I would have been your sunshine on a cloudy day,
A light that brightens up your world,
And makes you forget about your worries.
But now, I am just a memory,
A distant thought that crosses your mind,
And I wonder if you ever think of me,
Or if I am just a sand that slipped through your hand.
If I were your love,
I would have been your safe haven,
A place where you can always find solace,
And a shoulder to lean on when you're tired.
But now, I am lost in the abyss,
Wondering if you ever cared,
Or if I was just a game to play,
A puzzle to solve and then discard.
If I were your love,
I would have loved you unconditionally,
With every fiber of my being,
And never let anything come between us.
But now, I am left with a broken heart,
A heart that's shattered into a million pieces,
And I don't know how to pick them up,
And put them back together again.
