If I Were To Write You a Love Letter

how I’d start,
preparing myself
to write
Pretending
to work up
all my nerves
to express what’s
on my mind
I’d say
my heart
it chose you
first, and I guess
my heart was right
For all
my thoughts
are filled with
you as you
control my time
I’d want
to explain
your effect on
me when you
simply say hello
How a
normal look
or your perfect
smile can turn
my day around
I’d want
to write about
your face and
the loveliness
you show
How I
succumb to
all your beauty
for in its hold
I’m bound
I’d follow
by, outlining
things, I love
about you
most
Your caring
kindness and
tender ways
and the grace
that you possess
I’d write
how I could
die the night
the day I hold
you close
And detail
all that I
would give to
feel your warm
caress
If I were
ever to write
this letter I’d
have so much
to say
This letter
of love I’d
write to you
conveying my
feelings deep
I’d hope
the words
I write to
you would help
me find a way
To bring
your heart
within my own
and make my life
complete
