If I Could Say This To You
I hold you in these strong hands
Through your life I'll do all I can
Providing you the things you need
I hope more than just necessities
I'll strive to guide you in your life
To stay clear of trouble and vice
I'll watch over you while you sleep
By now and then, stealing a peek
I'll let you grow to adulthood
Without much interference, though I should
Warn you I will speak my voice
When I see you make a bad choice
I'll stand tough on discipline
secretly though, I'll want to give in
When it is you need your Dad
I'll be right here, even when I'm mad
You will grow up one day, wait and see
But for right now, your still my baby
