If He Only Knew
If I were him
Each day a blessing when I wake
A soft kiss on the cheek
Sneak out of bed and our coffee I make
A smile on my face
As I watch you rise
Crawl back in bed
Put my hands on your thighs
If I were him
I wouldn’t have to beg for time
I’d be right there
Because you’d be mine
If I were him
Making you happy would be my goal
How much I love you
You would know
If I were him
I’d have your voice in my ear
I’d see you look at me
I love you I would hear
If I were him
I’d have your hands on me every day
Because If I were him
When I begged, you would stay
If I were him
I could sit and watch and listen to you eat
After the dishes
We’d take a walk on our hobbit like feet
If I were him
I’d have you so near
I’d pull you close
Kiss you and whisper I love you dear
If I were him
I’d feel you in bed move close to me
Little spoon big spoon
You in a white nightie
If I were him
I could rest easy
Because when I woke
you would be next to me
So If I were him
I would love you and you’d know
But most importantly, if I were him
I’d never have to watch you go
