In most Christian traditions there are two types of eternity, heaven and hell. Eternity as hell feels more real now, since November of 2016. Sometimes funny and always tragic.

some believe life "is being there" (as one makes it)... an eternity as an infinity, of possibilities...we just happen to be here and now

now is an infinity between any two points of time measure, it betrays the 'endless' that lies beneath ...math and philosophy, loads of fun : )
