I'D Love To Be a Hermit In a Cave

I’d Love To Be a Hermit in a Cave By Elton Camp Thoreau is a man I especially admire To live alone like him is my own desire The only thing is he didn’t go far enough In his cabin, he still had worldly stuff I would like to sit alone in quiet and dark Never hear a phone or a dog’s angry bark How it would feel I desire to understand To be independent and live off the land With nobody to tell me I ought to get ahead Or to ask if the latest new book I have read It would be fine to sleep as late as I please What a happy life with things like these Only one worldly compromise I’d want to get I just don’t see how I can live without Internet

In the original version that I put into my latest book, I have a great illustration of the mouth of a cave with a cable running inside it to bring the Internet. Elton
