I'D Fill My Mind With Golden Trees
I wandered lonely as a cloud
in open space of the blue sky.
For my graceful flight I was proud,
but I didn’t know in the least why.
My life had become so lonesome
for I floated far from my home.
On wings of southern breeze I flew
over tinted vales of flower,
till I reached the yonder plateau,
bathed in the bright sunshine shower,
painting of autumn I could see
on color-clad tree canopy.
To glide on boughs I got a chance,
feel the rhythm of their rhapsody,
as leaves in wind began to dance,
ripple of joy flowed within me.
While colors glowed in my shadow,
spellbound I saw a splendid show.
My lone journey would end someday,
I won’t forget the thrill I’d felt.
To the sky’s edge I’d drift away,
in twilight of despair I’d melt.
At night when for me time would freeze,
I’d fill my mind with golden trees.
