Ice Scream

Silent replies
Silence surrounded

Fighter pilot he was before and before he could never stay silent

Astronaut thoughts, astronaut memories, astronauts fear!

Questions were thrown
Answers demanded

His eyes told the truth
His words stayed silent

He couldn’t lie to these people and through the camera screens to thousands upon thousands!

Under orders he was to lie or stay silent!

So he just stayed calm but pensive and so fearfully silent

So to break the silence a reporter asked what his favourite ice cream was

Now he could smile and issue the truth

The fever of questions did die
When he smiled and he answered

Cherry chocolate ice cream....
Cherry chocolate ice cream....
Chocolate ice cream....
Ice cream........I scream!!

What happened out there? What really happened?

He looked at the reporter who asked and then returned to being silent

For a minute he relived the past
In his head he saw dying

Friends completing their tasks on the outside in space
Tethered to the station they were
When the moon was shadowed in darkness

One by one they screamed
One by one they fought
One by one they died

Looking out the capsule
He saw something looking back with eyes, eyes filled with darkness

But then they went away and the universe in his can was totally mindless!

Three people had died
His friends on the outside

Their bodies had gone
Hollow suits floating in the sun
Why was he left alone?

Please Colonel, please tell us what really happened, please give us something! Please give us some more information!

Then silence....

My favourite ice cream is cherry chocolate .......... and I sometimes eat it with almonds.
