I YEARN

I yearn, I yearn, to change the tide,
In a world where good seems to hide.
I yearn for joy, in every heart,
Yet sorrow's grip tears it apart.

I yearn for love, a universal song,
But hatred's dance proves far too strong.
I yearn for dreams to find their way,
Yet sins persist and lead astray.

I yearn to turn hate into love,
But in our blood, it's woven above.
I yearn for fullness, no hunger's call,
Yet cloth and shelter, denied to all.

I yearn to turn the clock, reverse,
To a time when humanity was our universe.
I yearn for a button, a life delete,
To erase the sorrows and pain we meet.

I yearn for voices, free and clear,
Yet this world lacks respect, I fear.
I yearn for an end to heart's cruel fate,
Yet every soul seems filled with hate.

I yearn for kinship, sister, brother,
Yet religious rifts create another.
I yearn for minds to embrace the book,
But screens and gadgets take a look.

I yearn for safety, every girl,
Yet this generation seems to swirl.
I yearn for wealth to end the blight,
Yet corruption clings with all its might.

I yearn for freedom in every soul,
Yet thoughts and thinking take their toll.
I yearn for trust in this wary space,
Yet this world's not a trustworthy place.

I yearn for joy in each domain,
For individuals, families, neighbours, and terrain.
But do they yearn as I do now,
For a brighter future to endow?

Live regally, like king and queen,
Let not your thoughts make your spirit lean.
Trust not all, for they may deceive,
Guard your heart, so it won't grieve.

Live a life that others praise,
Not one that brings on darkened days.
Love those deserving, hold them near,
And, above all, love yourself, my dear.

Find joy in simple, surrounding things,
Shield yourself from the pain it brings.
Live for yourself, not for the crowd,
Love yourself, and stand tall and proud.

Extend a hand, help those in need,
For in their time of trial, you may succeed.
This life, it's fleeting, one and only,
So live it fully, not melancholy.

You don't know when your time will end,
So cherish each moment, my dear friend.
Live happily, love yourself through,
For this life is a gift—embrace it, be true.
