Notes About The Poem

Long distance relationships can be so extremely difficult at times. Like now, when I have to go to hospital in two days and would like to have him near me, stay with me, be there when I wake up again. But it is not to be. Hopefully the future will unite us.

I Write Myself Across the Distance

I speak soft words into this microphone
Embrace you when you lie down to sleep
Wrap my arms around you
While I cannot see you
While my words falter and halt
But you do not care

I smile sweet tears of love into the microphone
Grin broadly with you
Laugh so hard over our silly jokes
But I want to kiss you
Feel your lips on mine
See your mocha-eyes for real

I love you, you know that? I do
I wrap my thoughts around your image
My poetry around your being
My everything into your arms
I write myself across the distance
But I am crying with loneliness

Chris Green February 6, 2017 at 12:50 PM his is sad my friend and I know how this feels, but it is what it is and if we truly do love them then we will do what it takes as long as it takes, though it still hurts and the loneliness can be a huge weight.
