I Would Have Loved To Tell You

I know it's late now,
to say that
I would have loved
to tell you
what you meant
to me.
When words
are grenades,
what can you do but
leave the pin intact?
I was just trying
to keep us
all alive.

Or play musical grenades fast! I enjoyed reading your writing and hope you entered some into the Anthology. I’m sure the two I commented on would have made it. Quite lovely! Rather

Exceptional writing, which (free of embellishments) provokes much reflection that resonates from your central metaphor ("..words are grenades"). Congratulations! Brian
