I Would

I would give my life for you
though, that may be excessive
I would climb the highest mountain
but I could be lost in clouds,
and none would ever know
I would swim wide deep oceans
might drown and none would care
I would swim the fastest river
though I might be swept away
But I will give you all I can
and it will never be enough
and I won't let you go
unless you really asked
And if we reached that river, though beaten,
I'd hold my ground
let that torrent roar and crash
upon me just to know you're safe
because I could conquer mountains
seas and abject fear
but there would be no point
no point if I was alone

We don't tell each other enough until it is too late... thanks for your comment. It was written today in a noisy cafe
