I Won'T

If in the flushing garden path you walk forlorn And the hue of the sunburst sky embellishes you You’ll see me defined in the floating cloud You won’t be lonely, for I won’t ever leave you. If on the desert dunes you trudge desolate And follow the mirage to the hazy horizon You’ll reach the oasis of my heart You won’t be alone, for I won’t ever desert you. If on the golden beach sand you lie abandoned And the waves make pearly lattice around you You’ll see my yearning embrace you with adornment You won’t be lost, for I won’t ever forsake you. If in the stream of cascading dream you float And sail your heart to the bay of longing You’ll hear in the hum of ripples my captivating song You won’t be dismayed, for I won’t ever disown you. _______________ November 19, 2022 For A Brian Strand Premiere Choice Contest
