I Wish It Wise

I wish it wise
To be alone in such a crumbling world
I wish it right
To say goodbye to the need for safety
Where safety be our scepter
And not our scarcity
When love is not equipped
With merely another

Sometimes,
I wish it wise
To close my eyes to the truth
Just for a short time
That I may taste hidden sunshine
In this shrowding life
To escape on pristine wings
To a bliss solely my own
Where wild dreams can be put to Poetry
Where I need not fight for that reign
To choose
To write
To love
To live

One of the best things about being a poet is that escape is at our fingertips each time we pick up a pen... This lovely poem was a joy to read! Very nice work Laura!!
