I wish I had contest 03/22/24

sponsored by Unseeking seeker

Just nodded yes, when my ego had said no Lost all consuming forces, simply let go Met you halfway, instead of skirting the square Perhaps sat down, when you brought over a chair Found quantum entanglement, not just sheeple Its herding force, far away from the steeple Magnetism in both poles, pulling from all sides Positive and negative, filling vast voids Overcome the burden, in self surrender Let empathy conjoin, and love engender Gone outside my comfort zone, where truth persists Quelled year old hate, encouraged alternate bliss Lived together, stop digging at empty space Found peace together, ending human disgrace Believed together, without losing mere face Came together, with all consuming embrace But then again, (I wish I had) lots of things Not just a pair of arms, but fully fledged wings I’d fly ‘cross Nepal, meet and kill the Buddha His words incanting, Shoulda Coulda Woulda!

Thanks Dilly, a big surprise to get a placement in the Seekers contest, so I’m extra delighted, still snapping at your heels, well done on top spot, cheers David

David, Intrigued by your take on your response. As for me, plunging the depths of spiritual matters leaves me anxiously groping for answers. My lord--a thermos leaves me baffled; it keeps cold water cold and hot water hot. How does it know? Always enjoy your insights and search for understanding of what's so elusive for most of us. Best of luck. Robert

Thanks for stopping by Robert, I’m always on the search for understanding/enlightenment, I really don’t care where it comes from once it holds some valid truth, just like that thermos you mention, I believe answers can be found, but just not all under the one umbrella or roof, cheers David

Wishing for more vigor and a little less malaise? Sometimes fallen Christians make the truest Christians, very Christian spirited for these are the holiest days. A break from your Rorschach test Monokus which leaves me seeing ink blots "I peered down into the deep abyss and saw myself peering back"--I Am Anaya lol. Beautiful entry for Unseeking Seekers contest, David

Thanks Anaya, always difficult to know exactly what the Seeker is seeking in his contests, nevertheless I’m happy with this one, tried to stay within his inquiry prompt, without selling myself short, is that an ego thing or me just being me, I like that Rorschach description of my monokus, well you know what Nietzsche once said if you stare into the abyss long enough you’ll become the abyss, cheers David

It's very powerful this David and I've read it a number of times before commenting and read up on the expression of 'killing the buddha' to dissipate my original shock horror response (Catholics and blasphemy warnings run deep!). It's a poem that needed time to settle into a space for me. However, I've just read it now and it hit me differently. All the clever word choices jumped out and the thread running through became clear. My take - we all have to live with ourselves at the end of the day x

Thanks for sticking with this one Dilly Indeed the expression (if you meet the Buddha kill him) is not to be taken literally, it means far more than the face value interpretation, yes we all have to live with ourselves and decisions we made good bad and indifferent, I tried to keep with the Seekers prompt verse, without appearing to make myself appear like a wannabe saint, which I most certainly am not, Shoulda Coulda Woulda is a message for me and me alone, cheers David
