I Wish I Could Have Given More

I gave my friend a car.
She complained it was not a good one.

I paid her rent for a year.
She resented me for that.

I gave her some clothes.
She threw them out, disgusted they did not have designer labels.

I paid for her dinners when we went out
Because she never brought her wallet.

I paid until she angrily dumped me
Because I had run out of money.

Hmmm, are such people ever really our friends? One dumped me because I would not convert. Too bad people can't appreciate one another for whom they are. Well done.

It is weird how others want us to robotize ourselves for their pleasure.

That is not a friend, you know - that is called a freeloader - and I say she did you a favor!
