I Will Willingly Do It Again
When I first heard the thundering bombs
it was long ago on a starry night in the jungles of Vietnam
answering the call of a distant war.
I still hear the sounds of falling marines coming from afar.
I was young and full of life and unprepared to die,
but still the roar of guns and cannons filled the sky.
My grief laid onward and my joy was hard to find,
as the cries of my buddies are never far from my mind.
Every hour every minute forever seemed to last
while somber clouds of sorrow have come to pass.
If I had to do all again my friend for liberty,
I would without pause, to curb the threat of tyranny
