I Will Wait

For your touch, I will wait

For that simplest gesture,
your fingers brushing my face
with a stroke as light as raindrops,
a tap as soft as a rose petal,
a caress as gentle as a morning's breeze

For these, I will wait

For these things that only you may do
that make my soul ripple in gratitude,
an ecstasy once felt,
that I will crave forever

For these, I will wait
I will wait forever and a day
