I will not bow down to the gods of greed who want my freedom, who demand a rich tithe from my meagre livelihood, devalue worthiness with gold, its priests say give more abundantly while assessing my worth by my money. -OR- I will not bow down to the gods of greed who want my freedom, who demand a rich tithe from my meagre livelihood, devalue worthiness with gold, its priests say give more abundantly while assessing my worth by my money. written February 17, 2022

Milton, the second shape seems to allow this poem to read more easily and flow a bit more smoothly as least for me. The principles in the content are, or should be the basis of wisdom gained over time

A beautiful Etheree, Milton. It seems everywhere self-respect is sold for a coin of gold. Where are our values?

That is a central question I have been asking a lot lately. It seems values are devalued, while money is overrated. Better to be an honorable person than to have a plethora of riches.
