I Will Never Forget

I Will Never Forget

“This photograph brings back memories of a moment I will never forget…”

It was a beautiful September morning,
blue skies and not a cloud in sight;
a Tuesday morning and the city was beaming with life,
but at exactly 8:46, a moment that
                    I will never forget…
an explosion that rocked the world.

At 9:03, a second explosion
as another plane slams into the South tower.
Clouds of black smoke billowed from the buildings
as the onlookers watched in disbelief.
                    I will never forget...
as I watched the events unfold on television.

The moments that followed were utter chaos in the city;
police and firefighters responding to the emergency
as people tried to flee the terror and destruction.
                    I will never forget…
at 9:59 the towers, and our world as we knew it,
came tumbling down.

Tom Cunningham September 15, 2019 at 8:46 AM I was in Spain at the time and as we were going out of the hotel saw events on Spanish TV, we just thought it was a tragic plane crash, when we saw an English speaking tv in town we just stared in disbelief. Brandy Nicole September 15, 2019 at 8:25 AM Reading this makes my eyes misty. That Tuesday morning no one will ever forget. Such destruction, such a tragedy. My heart dropped more the next day. That Wednesday evening while at Bible class. Someone came looking for a woman, said her father passed away. We all were trying to figure out how to find that woman. It was my mother they were looking for. My grandfather had passed away. Both days hold many emotions for me.
