I Will Meditate Upon the Sunshine
I will meditate upon the sunshine,
Though its noonday heat could find me forlorn,
I shall dwell upon happy hyacinths,
Drying, undying from yesterday’s storm.
I will close the curtain on past’s sharp swords,
Its cruelty full meant, spilling so free.
On clouds of prophetic pessimism,
A dark black forest of winter stripped trees.
I will walk barefoot in nature’s soft grass,
Sing joyous songs that are borne in the air,
Listen to laughter of chortling children,
Fast growing beanstalks with hopes for life fair.
I will meditate upon the sunshine,
For it shines His loving light upon me.
