I Will Have a Lizard Lollipop Please

I will have a lizard lollipop please. Brown lizard or polka dot? Eyes or no eyes? Long tail with a hook or short tail with a V? The line waiting to order shuffles her feet. White or red? Pink or blue? Hot pink or soft pink? Sprinkles? Sugar donuts inside or outside? The line waiting yawns loudly. Claws or no claws? Fire breathing sticker? Sure. Why not? How much is it? Only a dollar more. Okay. The line starts rolling their eyes. Frosting or now frosting? Vanilla or Caramel? On second thought, give me a pink cupcake too. The line gets angry now. Rude grumbling begins. Cherry or strawberry? Pink frosting or chocolate frosting? Raspberry sprinkles or banana sprinkles? I don’t know. Growling. Stomping. Swearing. People begin to leave. “Want that on a plate with pennies or a plate with cows?” “YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!” a voice yells unsweetly from the rude line. Two more people leave. “Penny plate please,” the girl says. “Copper pennies or…..”

I see it, and I think, am I exaggerating or is it really this bad? Sometimes it really is. I think the overworked counter person is hoping the line will leave.
