I Will Always Love You

I will love you for the rest of my life, Feel your hair against my cheek, cascading Over my shoulder, the brush of your lips The warmth of your breath, whispering Tender words I needed to hear, my wife. In white coats and somber countenances They brought the worst of my nightmares “Ten months,” they said, “with treatments Less without...perhaps five” our experiences. You accepted your fate; I never saw you cry Two years now since you quietly slipped away And I miss you more with each passing day. Hankins, so sorry for your loss. Having left organized religion. Don't you still believe you'll see her again? Job. 14:14,15? is" "If a man dies can he live again?" I love his answer "You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the works of your own hands".Hope this gives you comfort.

Thanks, Barbara. I do strongly believe in a spiritual life after death...but I'm not really sure what form that life will take.

Thanks, Nicola. Just a true expression of what happened and my feelings. I have other poems on the same theme because you just never get over your one true love.
