I Walk Softly
I take my time and walk softly now
To defuse life's briny thorns
Which have been laid across my path
Since such time when I was born.
It makes no sense to stamp my feet
To further enhance my flawed ambition.
To be thought a fool at every turn
Where others mock my trite condition.
So I walk softly now upon the grass
Leaving no harm to time and space
With a vain hope those who follow me
Will find no mark upon this place.
But the danger lies in happenstance
And a wasted life a tad banal
As I fear without some modest gesture,
It will be like I was never here at all.
The End
For those who are interested. I will be posting my cartoon 'Bob's Your Uncle' on my homepage. A new one will appear every couple of days or so.
