I Wait For You
I have been counting all the days
Till your return, then we’ll embrace
Where flowers bloom beside the stream.
With beating heart and eyes that gleam
I would inhale your fragrant scent
And taste your lips, with your consent.
All dressed in green, with flowing hair
A spell you wield my maiden fair!
But now it is the twenty-first
And I still hunger, I still thirst.
For jealous winter spoiled our date
Abused its grip to make you late.
Outside it’s raining, dark and cold
There is no rainbow to behold!
