I Tried Not To Cry

I tried not to cry But when I looked out my window, All I could see is hatred, finger pointing, false accusations and lies I tried not to cry But when I looked out my window, All I could see is people turning against each other A great country I once knew, falling from within I tried not to cry But when I looked out the window, All I could see is crime, lawlessness and screaming I tried not to cry, but the tears flowed From grief, loss and division All those with blinders on to this creation I stood looking at the puddles on the floor, at my own reflection Begging, please God, save the people, let there be no more Heidi Sands 2/1/19

Well Heidi, your heartfelt words have certainly made me cry. This is such a deep moving write. It is so sad what is happening in our world, our countries folding in from within. Your words caressed my heart and stirred my emotions so easily. More and more I seem to look within myself. Maybe one day I shall just stay there, where the world stands as one, all hate gone. Loved the content Heidi. have a wonderful Saturday. Hugs....Mike. XX

Heidi,I rarely look out the window any more. I look into the computer terminal where the lovelies are still writing beautiful poems like this - on this site.

To see is to feel, is to cry. Written with deep sorrow. Well said, Heidi, so sad though.

It's a serious affair...hard not to cry...a lamentation...

Realistically viewing what goes on our world certainly can bring tears, Heidi. Sometimes these images can inspire writers, just as they have given you a chance to share your angst. Sad but beautifully penned, Heidi!
