I Think There Is Someone Under Your Table

I think there is someone under your table,
It may be someone from the stable,
That drink made less able,
Or someone looking for cash under the table.

I think there is someone under your table,
As you are more bendable,
And it is your table,
You should be the one to look while you are able,
And I can be the one to call the constable,
If that someone under the table,
Turns out to be unstable,
From the drink that we passed around the table,
Which we brewed behind the stable.

Marikate Kingston February 20, 2022 at 9:38 PM This poem is so funny. Makes me think of Xmas parties where my parent’s friends would play funny game. All the men would lie under the table, with their bare feet sticking out only. The women at the party would have to guess their husband’s feet. Whoever did won a glass of champagne ! Cute poem, it brought back that funny memory for me. :) I’m glad ! David Smith February 21, 2022 at 2:48 AM I am glad this poem came out the way I wanted it to. I was in an amateur acting group and we had similar parties, which now seem quite tame not like what happens now, When our kids were teenagers and went to parties. We parked down the road a bit in case things turned ugly and they felt unsafe. Hopefully when our grandson is teenager he will have luxury of parties. Take care David

I did make homemade Kahlua one with my sister. Also knowing we are making others forget the state of the world for a bit is nice too. Can't do that with TV much these days.
