I Think About A Brighter Life
I think about it out there
Where the tree line is thick
And where my thoughts wouldn't remain afraid
Where I'd have room to breathe
Where I could grow into who I'm meant to be
And be free, and finally witness what happiness means to me.
It only scares me to stay the same
To remain unchanged, and chained to these county lines
The same I’ve known for years on end
But there will be a different end, one of recognition
That something brighter awaits
Just beyond the sunset of hopeful horizon
Where no one can tell me if I belong
Because it's not up to their approval
Only the woods surrounding and their warm embrace
It may not be clear now but I see myself far away from here
Roaming my way through the endless skyline and the land below
I know its where my feet are destined to roam
And I feel grateful to know that nature is my true home.
Beneath brighter skies, the same hues but an altered slate
Because now it is refreshed with the color of life,
And I am like a budding flower in spring
Because I am finally free to expose my inner nature, my inhibitions
With no revolt or doubt, instead my hands are out spread in surrender to all of love
My garments are adorned in gold, my face reflecting with glitter towards the sun
I consider it closeness to god in a peculiar way, but still reputable
For it speaks to me as a silent reminder that through all things, I can shine
I can show up as a reflection of luminance to all things
Wherever darkness may fall, I reside there with an embrace of unending light.
