I STOLE FOOD TO SATISFY MY SOUL I used to be poor; Lonely dis-pared homeless; Maturated, no one cares; Haven't had any type of bath in twelve days; And yes, I stole hungry and dirty; I'm hungry and thirsty; I when it rains I drink from the sewers; And above it all, You're appalled; With you smug face, And your screams; No job, no money, no friends or family; No shelters, no so called Christians; I had nothing else, nothing left to do; So I took, without any guilt nor shame, I stole; I STOLE FOOD TO SATISFY MY SOUL So I relaxed and realized God had said and that my grandma read from the bible; “Men do not despise a thief only if he steals to satisfy his soul when he's hungry”; Yet in my impoverishment; I still didn't qualify for government help; They said six months ago; When I had a job, that I made to much; And when I lost my home in foreclosure; Was in it twenty-five years; So discouraged that I couldn't get current; No forbearance, It's apparent; So hungry just short of chasing squirrels and eating turf grass; Pulling up dandelions; I choose to run inside a grocery store, and steal some food; Now clerks, cashiers, and store manager despised me; I'm a thief but I had to satisfy my soul with a apple; Bunch of carrots a box of cereal; I STOLE FOOD TO SATISFY MY SOUL So I relaxed and realized God had said and that my grandma read from the bible; “Men do not despise a thief only if he steals to satisfy his soul when he's hungry”; I'm a thief but I'm hungry no job, no place to sleep; Be out here to long so if you catch me; Don't look down at me, I'm hungry; So I stole a candy bar and I grabbed a half a gallon of milk; And I ran out the store saying catch me if you can; I am so hungry been so hungry living under the train trestle lonely; No one to house me feeling neglect; I stole meat some hot dogs or was it franks; They the authorities/police arrested me; They could count my entire rib cage from my back; So I relaxed and realized God had said and that my grandma read from the bible; “Men do not despise a thief only if he steals to satisfy his soul when he's hungry”; I STOLE FOOD TO SATISFY MY SOUL So I relaxed and realized God had said and that my grandma read from the bible; “Men do not despise a thief only if he steals to satisfy his soul when he's hungry”; I STOLE FOOD TO SATISFY MY SOUL 2/16/18 written by James Edward Lee Sr. © 2018 taken from/inspired by Proverbs 6:30 from anthology “Actually Happening My True Testimony Reality”
