I Stand Alone

I stand alone in the dusty wind, I've been left out there, stranded from people's grins, I stood alone for many years now Watching the cars pass by my ground Dust fills my eyes some days Yet I wipe them away Abandonement betrayed my deal For I should've had people within me It shook the bones that held me upright Shivers trespassing my soldier's bars, once where they held so tight Not a single soul has greeted me Thus I am now the watcher which never flees Whitles of emptiness fill my walls For they are the music I play to waltz They are my friends reminding me again and again Of the magnificent purpose I was once built for Showing me how strong I am By a simple song from an old clam Here I am standing alone in the dusty wind Stranded from people's grins I stood and shall remain standing on the Itihad Road For I am the tall building saluting you, O passing by, in the corner's cold
