I Speak of Peace
I speak of peace
You call me a war monger
I offer you a hand
You refuse it for it is empty
I share my lunch with you
You complain it is not enough
I am concerned about the state of my country
You don’t understand as you have abandoned yours
I speak of unity
You call me a racist
You speak of racism
And call yourself “woke”
Am I but a silenced voice
A distant bell tolling
In an empty graveyard
Words gone stale
For lack of understanding
A dream laid waste
By wordless whores
