I Sit and Write
When all else fails, I sit and write
About whatever comes to mind
My worries pack up and take flight
My brain begins to unwind
Words flow like butter
Just waiting to be written
My head releases clutter
The results leave me smitten
When my life is too much, I sit and write
Any subject will do
After an eventless day, I get a bite
Before long I feel brand new
No one understands my need
Frustrated, it seems they just don't care
Oblivious to the fact that I am planting a seed
A beauty to grow from thin air
When I feel like a failure, I sit and write
It gives me a sense of purpose
Once blinded, I now have sight
It brings calmness to my circus
