I Shoulda Seen It Coming
I shoulda seen it comin’
but was so entrenched in sin,
that enslaved by senses five,
dark desires kept me alive.
Attention externalised,
everything I did was sized,
deadened to caress of love,
head and heart, not hand in glove.
I was a dead man walking,
enmeshed in lust forms stalking,
until I chose cessation,
nonchalant to sensation.
Letting go of, to get to,
my soul felt bliss beats renew
within the cave of my heart,
deeming all one, none apart.
I shoulda seen it comin’,
that hopeless feeling sinkin’
but I see it clearly now,
and thus do give love a bow.
