I Should Be Home By Now
The road is long
Cold and
deserted
Shadows stretch across the lonely highway
Although the seat beside me is empty
I hear your voice calling me
Asking me where I am
My heart aches knowing you are so far away
Why did I leave?
There was no reason for this trip
No reason for me to have left you behind
It is only now as I see the setting sun
And I know that you are settling in for the night
That I realize that no matter what
No matter what I see on he road
No matter how many stars are in the sky above
I know that there is only one place for me
I should be home by now
Home in your arms
Where I belong
