I See You Anew
I see you with new eyes
Mushrooms poking through mulch
Seeking the light above
The aqua blue egg shell, fallen
Just as the baby robin finds its legs
And wobbles on the branch, ready
To fly to new heights to sing
Of tiny flowers bobbing on stems
Dainty little petals, held
Bright under the green leaf canopy
Snails winding along the path
Seeking a cozy corner
As a butterfly wings by all aflutter
The day just a carefree breeze
Yes, I see you all reborn to me
Along this path I walk again
Months gone by while nature worked
An eternity of lives lived peacefully
With you, dear friend, my eyes
See new these sights as your delight
Fresh within the morning light
