I See a Garden
I see a garden, not faraway
The rivers are melted gold
The night is bright as a day,
The winds not hot or cold,
The grass is soft as a cloud
I jump barefoot side by side
With a multi-colored crowd:
Angels: half-maze, half-guide.
Yet, I slept a dreamless dream
Under the rosy flowered tree
Wondering if this could mean:
If there is more in Eden to see.
I parted from there afternoon
Hoping to find what is amiss:
A rosebud blooming soon
Aroused by my candid kiss.
