I Promised I'D See This With You
These perfect lines seem to rise.
Like the thoughts of what I despise.
I just want to be something more.
I can rest all day and still be sore.
I try to speak but the tears choke.
I hold close the words I never spoke.
From these days of open wounds,
And these nights inside my tomb,
I've come to understand how to build up,
from the rubble strewn below.
I have learned to see the light,
In the darkest of nights.
A single spark can ignite the fire of desire.
To inspire and revel in the human experience.
I seek new streets to travel along,
and to sweep my bad dreams into their gutters.
I can see the stars for what they are now.
What is there to do but what you choose to do?
