Notes About The Poem

I Never Knew

Some say- a paragraph holds them deeply,
not even the slightest touch can make them fall

                  Words hide from me

    Some say, the melody within takes them there,
          - the loudest noise will never waiver the tune

Words find me soon

                        -------------------------

 Some say- moments, emotions are against the wind,
    no one feels me, my mood- the tangling of a Sonnet

                        Words are lost again


Some say, my thoughts are visible, yet they seem hidden from view
       the rhymes, the discovery of it all-  no one really cares

 
                           ---------------------------------
                          Words whisper softly to me


     When the time right, that paragraph will find you
a Sonnet, a melody, the rhyme- a part of your memory
  
   
        Those that wish to see your poetry . . . 


              A sigh gently escapes
                  “I never knew”

John Watt August 24, 2020 at 3:46 PM I love your words about words, and how they sway in a slow dance with the soulful music of love, mystery, rhythm, and melody. There is much mystery to the human soul, which is why no words can ever define it exactly. Just as a painter or photographer never FULLY captures a sunset or a waterfall. Yet we try, and the trying is what we call poetry. "To him who has ears to hear, let him hear". Beautifully done, my friend. Thoughtful and evocative. Unlike the good physician, "Do no harm" the poet/poetess goes one better, rolls away the stone from the tomb of loneliness and despair -- exposing Humanity's often dreary soul for comfort and true healing. I would say a needle in a haystack, but in my experience it is more like a needle in a field of haystacks. Enjoyed reading your poem multiple times.
