I Need It To Rain

I need to hide
to drown my sorrow
to not feel obligated to stay a secret
the darkness to blanket my self inflicted pain
the thunder to stifle my screams
the lightening to set me on fire
I need it to rain...

I need to be revitalized and invigorated
to feel serene and tranquil
to be calm and collected
the darkness to bring me peace
the thunder to direct my mind
the lightening to guide my heart
I need it to rain...

I need to escape
to feel the ground at my feet
to feel the wind in my hair
the darkness to blind my captor
the thunder to clap in approval
the lightening to sever my shackles
I need it to rain...

I need to grow
to heighten my potential
to cultivate and thrive
the darkness to shelter my fraility
the thunder to ward off any imminent danger
the lightening to strike as my weapon
I need it to rain...

I need to be laid to rest
for someone to cry for me
for someone to long for me
the darkness to resemble my abscence
the thunder to echo my voice through your ears
the lightening to flash visions of me before your eyes
I need it to rain...

Depression classic symptoms. I love the rain. It it the only time I feel alive. This is a great write, more than that it is brilliant. I hope you find your way. If not come see me. As we are headed down the same highway. ~ Kilmer

There is better way to express one's emotions than through poetry. Powerful scribe. :)

Hi Valerie, hope you are getting the rest that is not intended for this poem. I love the way your poem escapes the rain.Very Deep. I know you are need of rain, to find your heart again. the sorrow that has you in the shadows is not fair. I wish you could feel the sanity that will complete you one day. The secrets you hide seem to take a toll on you. an awesome poem your friend ~SKAT

Alot of mixed emotions going on here...seems as though you need a comforter in a since. And it sounds like those that are around you don't care or not observant to your feelings. Also, we all have secrets..its the nature of who we are. You know as well as I know that we are here on earth for a reason...this is what I gather from this poem (probably over anaylized it)...an excellent write

I'm sorry, that's me... a huge ball of emotions. I do feel like I have a purpose but I feel at this time in my life my inner light has been dimmed by those around me which explains the beginning, me realizing I'm better than this and have so much to offer explains the rest. You didn't over anaylize anything.
