I Miss My Wife

Hello, my name is Mark Kelley, this is not a poem . My wife Yvette who used a pen name as Shanity Rain was very much into poetry and this wonderful website to express her poems. She actually wrote and published a book . Some of you I am sure will remember her name was Yvette Kelley but she used Shanity Rain as a pen name but I haven't done a search on her yet to see if she is still listed. Yvette died unexpectedly last year on Thanksgiving night. I was in prison for committing a crime to save our house from foreclosure. I saved the house for Yvette and our kids and went prison for 15 months. A month before I got out , Yvette died. I wandered the streets of Portland loaded on adderoll and in so much pain i couldn't stand to live. I finally got into a Veterans Program and i pulled my life back together and still am. I have a nice apartment now, i am clean and there for my grown kids. I am Working part time and i feel I am ready to start writing again myself if you guys will have me. I still get very sad and it gets bad living alone but I think I can heal with the help of you guys and writing but I don't know much about poetry, so I guess it will be free verse? Maybe some bio or drama, I'll give it my best. Thank you guys for reading my story , i will try and give you some of her poems that she didn't post but i would like to see if her work is still on here. God Bless and take care. Sincerely Mark Kelley

Wow, Mark. Her poems are there, from July 2013 to September 2015. I'm sorry for your story, but good luck from here on out. It sounds like you're on the right path.
