I Loved Him

I loved him when I was young before I knew the ocean depths I loved him with a heart brand new no scars to mar me yet I loved him with a clean, pure soul no knowledge had I of sin I loved him with my hair in braids with such hope, how I loved him I loved him when my breasts were proud no dimness in my bright eyes I loved him before my back was bowed with the weary weight of secrets I hide I still love him, yes, that much is true yet my old bones are brittle and break I will love him until the day I die into a new life this love I take

Dear Crystol, how beautifully you have expressed your lifelong love for him. Your rhyme is filled with soul-baring revelations that are rich, textured, striking, deep, emotional, physical, oh girl, I could go on and on... :) dear sister of the pen, your imagery and metaphors are exquisite. Your poetic artistry outshines the June sun! Warmest wishes, my inspiring friend.. ~Susan

Deare Crystol, No doubt as always that you moved me deeply. It’s a beautiful testament to love’s endurance through every season of life. O' the innocence, the hope, the ache of time passing, and the strength that remains. Your honesty and tenderness shine through. Yes, how love, once true, never really fades. I’m grateful for your friendship and your poetry. Spring Blessings, My Dear Crystol, Daniel

At first I thought this might be about your son, but I've deduced it must be about our Creator, Jehovah God. Yes, love for him will last an eternity. Beautiful poem

I love that you know the love of God like this too... when I wrote it, it was already there in my mind. As i stated to Karen, it was like reciting a poem i had memorized. To me it was telling someone else's story of love... thanks for chiming in! Xo

Shanks Karen...heehee. I had that first line running through my head when I woke up this morning. The rest of it came a if it were a memory... like reciting someone else's poem. Hum... maybe i better look it up to see if that's actually the case!! Lol... anyway, thanks! Xo
