I Love You Still
I love you still
I’m not the greatest catch, I’ve gotten a wee bit slow.
Some years have had me cornered and poached my youthful glow.
Eternally in my heart, I still love the same bright star.
I am beyond my stylish days, but I’m proud of every scar.
When life brings forth contention that feels too hard to bear.
Look deep into my eyes, you will see that I still care.
I’m here to help you up, if you should ever fall.
I possess an ear for you, it will listen for when you call.
There is a phrase I once heard said, there are many fish in the sea.
I wouldn’t really know, there is only one that I can see.
If the day should ever come, that I can’t see when I look.
I’ve written a novel in my heart, you’re on every page that’s in that book.
