I love nothing more than you

I love nothing more than I love you—
and that’s the part that scares me the most.

Because it means I’ve placed you
at the center of everything I feel,
like my heart learned to orbit yours
without asking if it was safe.

I love nothing more than I love you—
more than my own quiet,
more than the walls I built
to keep myself from breaking again.

And I can feel them cracking.

You don’t even have to try—
it’s in the way you exist,
the way your voice settles into me
like it’s always belonged there.

And I know what that kind of love does—
I’ve lived through the aftermath of it,
the empty spaces,
the way everything echoes
when someone leaves.

But still…
I didn’t stop.

I love nothing more than I love you,
even knowing how much I could lose,
even feeling the fear
curling in the back of my chest.

Because if loving you
is the thing that breaks me—

then at least, for a while,
I got to feel something
this real.
