I Live For the Evening

I live for the evening when the moon is alive,
Winking at me, showing me the stars
Thousands of others are seeing them too.
Maybe from other universes also.

I live for the nights when the air is cool,
And the roosters have stopped crowing,
And the world is asleep. It is so soothing.
I can meditate, and it is ever so relaxing.

I live for dusk when the owl begins her hoot.
And the cat runs away, to hunt in the wilds.
I live for the dark, where the wild plants thrive.
And the tiny bugs slip into a nightly slumber.

I live for the moments that my world is asleep
And the raccoons come to the porch
And delight me with their childlike antics.
And the deer come up and give me a nod.

I'm a night owl myself. I love to walk at night... just me and the two or three hundred criminals breaking into cars. So relaxing. Have a great night my friend.
