I Like You
As e.e. Cummings once said, "I like your body when it is next to mine"
and what a true statement that was he said.
I like you,
beyond dreams can display in my empty mind,
beyond the hills and mountains of this wonderful landscape,
beyond the touch of love to ones' heart,
I like you a lot.
Feelings are restrained,
to show too much emotion will be too forward,
but I shall leave you with a kiss and this,
that whatever it may seem, my dear,
that I like you, more and more everyday.
The feeling when my heart leaps from my chest
at the sound of your golden voice calling me,
I hear you,
you sing such songs to my ears it is lovely to hear,
in such a low-low time for me.
I shall leave you with this, my dear,
a kiss and to tell you that I like you,
and I like when your body is next to mine,
my dear, hold me and I'll hold you, kiss you- oh a loving kiss
shared at moonlight's bliss,
and we shall sleep the night away
with love slowly coming around the corner.
