I Let My Wounds Breathe

I let my wounds breathe; All wounds inflicted By life's serrated blade. Notwithstanding Degrees of pain; Whether dull or sharp, I let my wounds breathe. I don't smother them With bandages. How about you? They are my crying eyes, So I set them free to bleed To be licked dry By the wind's healing tongue. You see, just like tears Stop flowing, Lacerated wounds Stop bleeding To start the healing After clotting over. Date written: 03/21/2023

Oh yes I too Edward, I had no bandages in mind. I most enjoy a poem that makes me think, because I have never been able to achieve that (my poems are terribly cut and dry). I have great admiration for this and others I have read of yours.

No I hide my wounds so no one will ask, why or how?. So no one will suspect. Your poem is a mystery, so many question spring to mind, and I am thinking this was your aim, a preponderance of questions to make the reader think. In that case, you have succeeded admirably, and are to be commended. If I am wrong, then you made me think, just the same.
