I Know That Whenever It Happens

I know that
     whenever it happens
           (you may be rising in the morning)
     that my first thought of you
           I know that wherever
     you happen
           to be
                when that first
                      light of you
                           touches me
                it may be before your eyes open
           and I may not be near but I know that
                wherever I am
                     you are
