I Kissed The Rain

"Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head ... Let the rain sing you a lullaby." Quote by _Langston Hughes, Poet and Writer
I often find myself musing on my life . . . my mind is a cluttered box . . . . of memories the mirror is my best friend as it never lies and it even cries with me~ oh, my skin is paper so fragile it breaks . . . . ~I wear a mask to hide my face and sorrow my soul is scarred with life's dagger mom's voice whispers, don't cry "I'm still here"~ when recalling my life journey I meander I love walking in the rain letting the raindrops kiss my lips kisses of love from my beloved " just be you," they murmur . . . ~"you're delightful just the way you are with every flaw earned in life with every tear wept because of grief"~ there are days I am alone, hungry and thirsty for something I cannot even explain _ I watched my sister die on a snowy street her blood soaking the new fallen snow the angel of death stroked my hair that day and death has followed me . . . . since then all my family one by one have died . . . even my baby my many cats deaths have shattered me also . . . ~ the heart can hold thousands and thousands of memories, . . . and decides when to extract one with a sharp blade and that is when I find the rain either in reality or in my mind so, I can muse today "the rain kissed me " ~

A very introspective/autobiographical poem that once again depicts the grief, trauma and all that youv overcome or survived and faced in life, and how you still keep going amidst all that youv endured. Shows how strong you are. So much of what youv expressed here is heart wrenching to read too! And to accept and embrace all shades of yourself and to find strength again is not an easy thing which you keep doing! A very cathartic write, I felt. Thank you for supporting my contest!congratulations!

Congratulations on your win. Your "I Kissed The Rain" is an amazing/powerful write. The rain can kiss you sweetly. The rain can beat on you. Yes, even the rain can sing you a lovely lullaby to sleep. Have a great weekend with your win.................
