I Keep a Written History
You say it seems that I'm hiding something-
Maybe its my answers;
Or that when you asked, I said nothing.
If in need of explanation,
here’s my summation;
my trust has reached stagnation-
I learned don’t trust what isn’t well known,
And even then reside in caution-
Don’t let your full cover be shown.
Afraid; I am not-
and secrets, I have little;
So hold to the ones I've got-
avoid becoming transmittal.
We all love good mystery;
It's simply human nature.
I keep a written history,
But it will not read off my behavior.
I'm manipulative-
as well as contemplative.
I'm witty and I'm charming-
perhaps over demonstrative
I'm tricky-
and I'm picky.
Caught up,
a bit sporadic-
and when I speak,
I am emphatic.
But in this too, I am loyal-
Kindhearted;
Was left broken-
When we parted;
But I still cant wait to get started.
I'm trustworthy,
but if need be-
also bloodthirsty.
I know respects to be earned-
If nothing else,
It's this that I have learned.
