I Journeyed On
I walked along a well traveled dirt road,
intrigued by an old mill that caught my eye,
where flowing water of a river slowed.
My interest peaked as I stood nearby.
Intrigued by an old mill that caught my eye,
I sauntered nearer for a better look.
My interest peaked as I stood nearby,
captured as quickly as Queen takes a rook.
I sauntered nearer for a better look,
mesmerized by the cadence of the wheel,
captured as quickly as Queen takes a rook,
as it played a song in rhythmical peal.
Mesmerized by the cadence of the wheel,
my mind drifted 'neath grey skies for a while
as it played a song in rhythmical peal.
Journeying on, I wore an amused smile.
My mind drifted 'neath grey skies for a while,
where flowing water of a river slowed.
Journeying on, I wore an amused smile.
I walked along a well traveled dirt road.
